Shihpoo

Shihpoo (Shih Tzu poodle mix)

Shihpoo is a beautiful small dog resulting from the crossing of Shih Tzu and Poodle. As with most dogs with the poodle as the parent, a shoodle is a small, fluffy breed with thick hair, the type and quality of which depend on its two parents. The toy poodle is most commonly bred to the shih tzu, which is also a toy breed. This results in shih poos growing till they become full-grown dogs which are around 7-20 lbs and 8-13 inches tall. Shihpoos are incredibly affectionate and have a lot of personality despite their diminutive stature. Because they are amiable, kind, and incredibly versatile, they are the perfect companions for elders, single people, and families looking for a caring, engaging pet.
Shihpoos can keep up with more busy households as they are typically playful and extremely energetic. They have a lot of energy because of their Poodle ancestry, but they also value relaxation and cuddling. They thrive in settings where they are exposed to a lot of human interaction and attention, and they are renowned for having exceptional social abilities. These canines are frequently characterized as “people-oriented,” developing strong relationships with their families.
Given that this breed of dog has a hypoallergenic coat, many people prefer having Shihpoos especially those who have allergies. They have curly hair which does not shed and this makes it important to groom them frequently to prevent tangle and matting. The good news is that you can brush them every few days and take them for grooming sessions ensuring they are always well groomed. One bright side to owning this type of breed is that, with their demand for attention, it will not take you long to notice when they need grooming. Shihpoos are great because they offer companionship, loyalty, and sheer happiness to families that adopt them.
